Nominations for School Board Trustee Open January 1
Wolf Creek Public Schools is excited to announce that nominations for School Board Trustees will open on January 1, 2025. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference in education and represent the voice of your community.
Wolf Creek is divided into six wards, representing 30 schools across the division. Trustees play a vital role in shaping the future of education, advocating for students, and supporting schools within their ward.

- Nomination Period: Opens January 1, 2025, and runs until the official closing date (as per local election timelines).
- Election Date: October 20, 2025.
- Eligibility: Check the nomination package for eligibility requirements.

What about the Nomination Paper? (Section 27 of the Local Authorities Election Act)
A candidate must be nominated in writing on the prescribed form signed by at least 5 electors eligible to vote in the election and resident in the local jurisdiction on the date of signing the nomination form and shall be accompanied by a written acceptance signed in the prescribed form by the person nominated, stating that the person is eligible to be elected to the office and that the person will accept the office if elected.
Completed nomination papers, signed by the candidate, will be accepted by the Returning Officer, or deputy, at The Wolf Creek School Division office located at 6000 Highway 2A in Ponoka from January 6, 2025 until September 22, 2025 at 12:00pm. Nomination papers must be submitted on the prescribed form.

Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Permission
The signed Nomination Paper must be delivered. A fax or other reproduction will not be accepted.
Please ensure that the Ward is specified on the nomination form. The Board passed Bylaw 1/20 which specifies the ward structure for The Wolf Creek School Division as described in Board Policy 7: Board Operations. Wards are established based on population.
