Alix Mac Scholarships

Students are responsible for verifying scholarship deadline dates.

ALIX AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP - up to $1,200

For students from the Alix/Mirror area.
Students must be planning to attend a post secondary program (trade school, college or university).
Up to $1,200 is available, dependent on the number of suitable applications.
To apply, submit a short, introductory letter about yourself and the post-secondary program you have been accepted to (conditional acceptance will qualify). Include information about what you plan to do with your education. Maximum length: 500 words

ALIX LEGION SCHOLARSHIP

For students who have excelled in their academic studies.
Graduating grade 12 and attending a Post Secondary Institution
Highest mark in Social Studies 30 or equivalent

ALIX LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP - 2 of $1,000

Must be a graduate of Alix-MAC School
Satisfy entrance requirements to a post secondary institution
Demonstrate leadership requirements
Be recognized as an individual of honesty and integrity
Must provide:
- One-page, self-written letter expressing why you should receive this award
- Transcript of grade 12 marks
- Confirmation of acceptance from post-secondary institution indicating the specific field, school or faculty you are attending (Note: The scholarship cheque is made payable to the institution, not the student).
- Letter of reference (maximum of 2) with detailed summary of your character, leadership roles in school, involvement in extra-curricular activities at school, work experience, and special interests and hobbies.

Criteria: This is awarded to students who have volunteered to go above and beyond to help others, taking on extra duties and making life better for all at Alix-MAC School.

BENTLEY SEED CLEANING PLANT SCHOLARSHIP

Attending a Post Secondary Institution with preference given to the field of agriculture
Obtain an overall average of at least 70% in the graduating school year
A resident of the area for a minimum of 3 years

DANE NELSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1,500

The Dane Nelson Memorial Scholarship seeks to recognize an Alix MAC Student who is accepted to a trade school or registered in an apprenticeship program. Dane was a Alix- MAC Student who thrived in the school being a team player in all areas of his education and sports. Dane continued his education at RDC taking the Electrician apprenticeship program until his health made him unable to complete his last 2 years. We would like to continue his legacy and award a student with a $1500.00 scholarship to help with their education.

Criteria:

The scholarship is awarded based on a student who is well rounded in academics, sports, leadership and community minded. The student must be enrolled in a trade school or registered in an apprenticeship program.

RAHR MALTING CANADA SCHOLARSHIP - $500

Exhibited superior performance in one or several areas of academics, community, citizenship & sportsmanship
Attending a Post Secondary institution in an area directly or indirectly related to agriculture

ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION Br. #189 MIRROR - BURSARY - $400 **New 2024

The Bursary Program is designed to assist those students who are entering their post secondary education (including courses and training programs of a technical and vocational nature).

ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION MIRROR POPPY SALES BURSARY - $500

For children of Canadian Armed Forces members or grandchildren of veterans.
Graduating grade 12 and attending a Post Secondary Institution

SARGENT COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP - 2 of $1,000

One scholarship will be awarded annually to a student going into the trades, in the amount of $1000, AND one scholarship will be awarded annually to a student going into a program related to agriculture, in the amount of $1000. The student recipients must be graduating students of Alix Mac School from Alix, Clive, Haynes, Mirror or Tees areas with a mailing address from one of those areas. Application Deadline May 15.

WOLF CREEK SCHOOL DIVISION CTS SCHOLARSHIP - $300

Significant amount of program in CTS, RAP or Green Certificate
Should be enrolled in a program related to their CTS studies
