ALBERTA MOOSE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS - $1000
A scholarship will be awarded to each city or town with a Moose Lodge. Students from Lacombe will be able to apply to the Red Deer or Ponoka Chapter. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must be registered at a recognized Alberta Community College or University as a full time student. Application available here . Available to graduating students of Rimbey, Alix-MAC, Lacombe, Bentley, Eckville and CACHS. Students must be registered in a post secondary program with preference given to an agriculture related field of study and have a graduating overall average of at least 70%. CALUMET SYNERGY ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP EXCELLENCE AWARD - 1 of $1000, 2 of $500
This scholarship will be awarded to a student beginning in post-secondary studies. CSA would like to recognize those students and emphasize the importance of supporting their contributions to our area. In order to be eligible for the Scholarship award, a student must:
- live in the CSA area
- be entering his/her first year of full-time undergraduate studies leading to a degree, diploma or certificate
- have demonstrated positive support and service to the community
- write an essay (minimum of 250 words to a maximum of 500 words) to indicate why you are deserving to receive this Scholarship award
- have confirmation from the Registrar's office of the post-secondary institution that you are attending indicating your full-time status
Applications are available in the Career Centre in your school. Please submit completed applications to your Career Counselor prior to June 28 for submission to CSA. Your Transcript of Marks or DAR and proof of registration are to be submitted directly to Leanne Walton at taltonfarm@gmail.com by August 31. The 2024 application is available HERE.
CAMIS DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP – ($3000 per year)

CAROLE FORHAN THEATRE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP - 1 of $500
Applicants must be a resident of the greater Central Alberta area, apply the award towards costs associated with a recognized workshop or program of a Theatre Arts nature, meet all the admission criteria and be accepted (if applicable) into the program for which funding is being requested, demonstrate commitment, dedication, work ethic and passion towards theatrical arts, as verified through two reference letters. References that speak to these are felt to be of equal if not greater importance than other criteria. Applications become available January 15th each year. CENTRAL ALBERTA CO-OP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM $1000 (10 in total)
Applicant or immediate family must be a member of Central Alberta Co-op for at least one year and have made purchases exceeding $2,500.00 in the past year. The applicant or immediate family must reside in Central Alberta Co-op's trading area. Applications open April 1 to 30.
CENTRAL ALBERTA VINTAGE AUTO CLUB BOB & JEAN SPENCER SCHOLARSHIP - $1000
Awarded to a Grade 12 student attending a central Alberta high school who have achieved at least 15 credits in mechanics/automotive related courses at the high school level, and who graduate in June of the most recent school year. In addition, applicants must be furthering their education in the automotive field by being enrolled in an automotive-related program in a post-secondary institution in Alberta or must have a plan for apprenticeship. Application available on-line HERE. Deadline June 14 to the school, Sept. 1 directly to the sponsor.
EQUS SCHOLARSHIP - 4 of $1,500 each
Students applying for this scholarship must be residents of Alberta based on their parents address. At least one of their parents, or legal guardian, must be a member, in good standing of EQUS at the time of the application. Students must be planning on enrolling in the first year of a full-time post-secondary program that is at least two (2) years long. The recipients will be chosen by a selection committee.

LANDMARK GROUP OF BUILDERS YOUTH VOLUNTEER SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000
This scholarship is available to individuals who have been registered in the AHS Youth Volunteer Program within the past year, who reside in or have their permanent address within 100 kilometers of Red Deer, and who are pursuing a post secondary education in a healthcare related field. Must be enrolled in and attending grade 12 or completed grade 12 within the past year..

MARILYN SHARP 4-H SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000
The scholarship is made possible by generous donations from MEGlobal and Dow Canada, in recognition of Marilyn’s long-time volunteer contributions as a member of their Community Advisory Panel. Available to 4-H Members from the West Central Region. MURRAY FAMILY CAREER OPPORTUNITY AWARD - usually $1,500
Open to students in Central Alberta who are either attending post-secondary school or technical institute for a diploma or degree program. You will be asked to provide information on your career plans and your financial plan for post secondary. Involvement in the community and demonstration of positive motivational and/or leadership skills will be considered. RED DEER ARTS COUNCIL CENTENNIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR SECONDARY STUDENTS - $500
Awarded to the top scoring submission from a secondary student on the basis of submissions of literary, visual or performing art works. Open to Central Alberta students who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants currently enrolled as full-time students in a secondary institution. RED DEER ARTS COUNCIL WASKASOO BLUEGRASS MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR SECONDARY STUDENTS - $500
Awarded to the top scoring submission from a secondary student studying music and continuing their music career in a post-secondary school. Open to Central Alberta students who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants currently enrolled as full-time students in a secondary institution. RED DEER AND DISTRICT LABOUR COUNCIL ESSAY SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000
To qualify, write an essay of 1000 – 1500 words, based on the topic:
“Has the Gig Economy lowered traditional labour standards and benefits, such as minimum wage, worker Health & Safety, overtime, pensions, vacation time, etc., and How can Unions protect and improve workers’ rights in the Gig Economy?”
Writing tips:
• Discuss how the gig economy has or could have an impact on your community and
society as a whole.
To Be Eligible the Applicant Must:
1) Be a grade 12 graduate of a Central Alberta High School.
2) Be attending a post-secondary institution as a full time student.
3) Provide confirmation of registration in a post-secondary degree or diploma program at a recognized university or community college.
4) Provide a copy of the statement from the institute indicating courses for each semester and a copy of the class schedule.
5) Provide a copy of the receipt indicating payment of tuition.

RED DEER REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION - numerous available
The Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, with the support of their donors, is pleased to be able to offer scholarships to Central Alberta residents pursuing an education in health care. Applicants must currently reside or their permanent address must be within 100 km of Red Deer. They have a number of scholarships in a variety of fields. TREY PURDIE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1000 & $2000
Trey’s dedication to his community, love of rural life, and passion for rodeo have inspired the creation of two distinct scholarship opportunities, aimed at supporting students who share his values.
$2000 award is open to AHSRA members in good standing who are graduating from high school. Applications available through the AHSRA, with a deadline of April 1.
$1000 Award is available to students who reside on a working farm or ranch and are either a resident of Red Deer County. Deadline May 31

VIOLET RICHARDSON AWARD - $500 to the recipient & $500 for her volunteer organization
This award is sponsored by the Soroptimist International of Central Alberta. Eligible applicants must be females between the ages of 14-17; have demonstrated initiative in both identifying a problem and trying to solve it; have had significant and noteworthy accomplishments as volunteers.
The application should be printed and filled out. The Soroptimist Club has had difficulty in the past when forms are filled out online and then sent to them. It will strengthen your application if you include reference letters, pictures, news articles, etc. These are appreciated by the judges of the award. The completed applications can be scanned and emailed to susanbarthel1@gmail.com or to courtashley@telus.net. If a student would prefer to drop off or mail the completed application, they can email for an address.
Should you become a winner of $500, $500 will also be contributed to your volunteer organization in your honor. You would then be eligible for one of 28 $1000 awards. One finalist will be chosen from among those 28 winners for an additional award, including a contribution of $2500 to the finalist's volunteer organization.
