Wolf Creek invites 250 stakeholders for education planning summit Jan. 31
Nearly 250 voices are set to shape the future of Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS), as the school division hosts a Stakeholder Summit.
The 2025 Stakeholder Summit, Jan. 31 in Lacombe, is a collaborative engagement designed to shape the division's next Four-Year Education Plan. Stakeholders from all corners of the WCPS community—including students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators—will come together to share their perspectives and vision for the future of education.
“Collaboration is at the heart of what we do,” said Superintendent Tim De Ruyck. “The Stakeholder Summit is an invaluable opportunity to gather insights from our community and ensure that our plan reflects the collective aspirations and needs of everyone involved in Wolf Creek schools.”
Facilitating this year’s summit is Dr. Jordan Tinney, a leadership education consultant with extensive experience in strategic planning. Dr. Tinney has dedicated his career to supporting educational organizations across Canada, focusing on leadership development, governance, and long-term planning.
“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Tinney lead this important discussion,” said De Ruyck.
“His expertise in guiding strategic visioning processes will ensure that every voice at the table contributes to a clear and actionable plan for the future.”
The summit will feature a full day of structured activities, including interactive table discussions and group interviews, all aimed at answering key questions such as:
- How can we continue to inspire success, confidence, and resilience in our students?
- What barriers might hinder our vision for student success, and how can we address them?
- In what ways can WCPS build on its existing achievements?
As the day concludes, Superintendent De Ruyck will outline the next steps in the strategic planning process.
“This summit marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for WCPS. It’s a chance to dream big, plan boldly, and work collaboratively to ensure that every student has the tools and opportunities they need to thrive,” he shared.
WCPS has a strong history of engaging stakeholders to develop its Education Plan, which evolves annually based on feedback, achievement data, and emerging challenges. The current plan has been guided by three core priorities: Collective Responsibility, Supporting All Students, and Quality Teaching. These priorities have driven initiatives to foster collaboration, inclusion, and high-quality instruction while removing barriers to student success.
