Social and Emotional Learning Day March 3

On March 3, Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) will mark Social and Emotional Learning Day, aligning with this year’s theme, “Skills for Success. Ready for the Future. The event highlights Wolf Creek’s commitment to “Creating Success for all Learners” by creating an educational environment that nurtures the development of critical social and emotional skills among students.
Over the last few years, thanks to funding from the Alberta Education Mental Health in Schools Pilot Grant, Wolf Creek Public Schools has provided Social Emotional Learning Programming to schools across the division. Social Emotional Learning Program Facilitators have been in classrooms from Kindergarten to Grade 9, delivering universal classroom programming based on the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) competencies. These programs have helped students learn self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, self-management, and responsible decision-making.
