Carey Flewelling Appointed Assistant Principal of Crestomere School

CRESTOMERE — Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) is pleased to announce that Carey Flewelling has been appointed Assistant Principal of Crestomere School, beginning in the 2025/2026 school year.
Flewelling has served WCPS for nearly 20 years, teaching students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 at both École James S. McCormick School and Crestomere School. She has completed her second year of her Master of Education in Teaching, Learning and Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge, and brings a wealth of experience in classroom instruction, leadership development, and student-centred learning.
“Carey brings exceptional experience and leadership capacity to this new role,” said Sonja Dykslag, Assistant Superintendent of People Services. “Her work in inclusion, mentorship, and literacy speaks to her deep commitment to both students and staff. We are thrilled to have her join the administrative team.”
A graduate of the WCPS Aspiring Leaders program, Flewelling is bilingual and has extensive training in inclusive education practices. She has played an instrumental role in developing teacher mentorship programs, coaching school teams, and launching a drama program—all while helping build strong literacy foundations for students and staff alike.
“I am truly honoured to join the administrative team at Crestomere School,” said Flewelling. “This community has always held a special place in my heart, and I’m excited to support our students, staff, and families in new ways. I look forward to continuing to foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and care where everyone can thrive.”
