Shortlist announced by Alberta Government

On November 5, 2020, the provincial government announced they have shortlisted three qualified groups to enter into a competition to bid on five new high schools, with one being Blackfalds, through a public-private partnership (P3).

The next step in the process will be for each of three qualified construction contractors to submit a bid to the Alberta Government understanding they will award the contract to one who will be responsible for building all five new high schools in roughly the same timeframe.

The request for proposals (RFP) will be completed in July, 2021 and the contract awarded by September 30, 2021. Construction will then begin fall, 2021 with a completion date of June, 2024 and school opening September, 2024.
