Irene Donaldson is the Successful Candidate for the Coordinator of Inclusive Learning Services Position with Wolf Creek Public Schools

The Inclusive Learning Services Department is pleased to announce Irene Donaldson as the successful candidate for the Coordinator of Inclusive Learning Services position with Wolf Creek Public Schools. This opening was created as a result of Lorna Hewson’s resignation.  Lorna is pursuing an opportunity to consult with Jigsaw Learning, and will be working with the ILS team until the end of August.  Irene will begin her work with Inclusive Learning Services August 2017.

Irene received her Bachelor of Education in 1992 from the University of Calgary.  She also completed the 2 year Aspiring Leaders program in 2015.  Irene will complete her Masters of Education in Leadership with City University of Seattle in July 2017, with President’s Honours.

Irene brings over 24 years of experience working in education and has been employed in positions that bring significant value to the area of inclusion.   Irene is no stranger to Wolf Creek Public Schools; she has been with us since 1999, serving in roles such as Teacher, Student Services Facilitator (Inclusion Coach) and she has been an Assistant Principal at Iron Ridge Junior Campus for the past 4 years.

Irene has the following comment regarding her new position:

“I am very excited to join the Inclusive Learning Services team and support the continued advancement of inclusive practices within WCPS. After 18 years, however, it is with a heavy heart that I leave Iron Ridge Junior Campus and the community of Blackfalds.  The staff, students, and parents I have worked with in Blackfalds have truly enriched my life.  It has been my pleasure to serve such a dynamic staff and community. “

We look forward to the positive contribution that Irene will bring to Inclusive Learning Services.

Please join us in congratulating Irene!
