New Assistant Principal Appointed at École Lacombe Junior High School
Ms. Janice McDonald (VanCampen) has been appointed as Assistant Principal for École Lacombe Junior High School, effective at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. This vacancy became available as a result of the current Assistant Principal, Mr. James Matthie moving to the role of principal.
“After a two of years working throughout the Division, I feel like I'm coming home!”, said Janice of her new appointment. “I am thrilled to be welcomed back by such an amazing group of highly skilled professionals. I look forward to getting to know and support all of our students in our dynamic and vibrant school. I am proud to be the newest addition to the ELJHS administration team and I am excited to continue moving us forward in educational excellence.”
Janice has been a WCPS Learning Coach this past year at Ponoka Elementary and Ecole Lacombe Upper Elementary. In 2014/15, Janice served many schools in her role as a WCPS Technology Integration Leader. Janice taught in the French Immersion Department at ELJHS from 2005-14 and prior to that with Red Deer Public Schools, and Halifax School Division
Janice holds a B.Ed from Nova Scotia Teachers' College and Universite Ste. Anne and will be commencing her Master's Degree this fall in 21st Century Learning with Wilkes University.
